This is #ClimateAction

With COP26 – UN Climate Change Conference taking place in November of this year in Glasgow, and a new US President putting Climate Change at the top of his agenda, it’s going to be a busy year for all things environmental.

We all throw around a lot of environmental hashtags, but one that we feel particularly strongly about at Ryse Hydrogen is #ClimateAction. There’s a lot of talk about lowering emissions, and then there’s the Action to actually do something about it.

That’s why we’re so excited by the zero-emission hydrogen buses being manufactured by Wrightbus.

Getting a hydrogen economy going in the U.K. will do two things:

1. Create Jobs
2. Lower emissions

And so it’s always great news to see when Northern Irish bus manufacturer Wrightbus (producers of the world’s first zero-emission double-decker hydrogen bus) are creating new jobs – in this instance 46 – as the manufacturer increases production of its zero-emission hydrogen buses.

The company will launch a recruitment drive later this year to fill the positions, 19 of which will be apprenticeships. The 46 roles include spray painters, welders, electrical engineers, technicians, accountants, sales staff and a project manager.

Chairman Jo Bamford says: “2021 is going to be the year hydrogen really makes its mark.”
